How commission is worked out
- Commission is 8% of what the traveller paid for the booking, after any promo code. Our prices include everything, so there is no separate tax or fee to take off.
- A booking counts when it is made within 30 days of a click on your link, and the most recent partner link before the booking gets it.
- Commission is pending until the trip has taken place and been paid for, then approved. After 14 days with no refund or dispute it becomes payable.
- A cancelled booking earns nothing. A partial refund reduces the commission in proportion to what was refunded.
- Some partners or tours may carry a different rate, agreed in writing. The rate a booking earns is fixed when it is made.
Example: a $200 booking at 8% earns $16 once the trip has run.
Questions partners ask
Does it cost anything to join?
No. There is no fee to join and nothing to buy. You need a SearchMyGuide account with a confirmed email address.
Can I earn on my own bookings?
No. Bookings made by the partner's own account through their own links do not earn commission.
What if someone clicks links from two partners?
The most recent click before the booking counts. One booking earns one commission, for one partner.
What if they book on another device?
We can only connect a click and a booking made on different devices when the traveller was signed in to SearchMyGuide when they clicked. Otherwise the booking is credited only if it is made on the device they clicked from.
What if a visitor turns down cookies?
If a visitor declines non-essential cookies, we count the click but cannot connect it to a later booking. We do not track people who say no.
When do I get paid?
Payable commission is paid monthly once your balance reaches $50. You choose PayPal or bank transfer in your partner page after you are approved.
Can I use paid ads?
You may not bid on SearchMyGuide or its misspellings in search ads, use our brand in a domain name, or present yourself as SearchMyGuide. Anything else, ask us first.
What happens to my commission if a trip is cancelled?
A cancelled booking earns nothing. If commission was already paid and the booking is refunded afterwards, the amount is taken off your next payout.
